Feasibility study

For the project Rural hinterland in Wesermarsch a feasibility study will be set up. That study will investigate the challenges of climate change to water management, coastal protection and agricultural use of the area applying the scenario technique. The study will list possibilities concerning:

  • the increase of the efficiency of the drainage system
  • an integrated adaptation approach to problems of rural hinterlands for the future
  • the consequences for the application of the European Water Framewordk and Soil Framework Directives

The study is necessary to offer possible solutions for future problems in water management and coastal protection due to the peaty soil of the project area.
